{December 18, 2006}   sweet, sweet fire

sure, we have had a stove since we moved in, but we haven’t been able to use it because the previous owners had an electric stove (yuck). we thought it would be “no big deal” to get the system converted over to propane. ha! wrong. so wrong.

but we were patient and made due (and found many local tasty delivery and take-out options). we baked, and considered setting up some sort of system for cooking in the fireplace. we broke down and purchased an electric burner which helped us to survive for a month without fire, and also reaffirmed our strong dislike of electric heat cooking.

but today…today it all changes…today i cook soup:

hello, power boil:

thank you, propane.

L says:

HAHAHA to the power boil! I like the arrow. We just experienced power boil for the first time over Thanksgiving in Jon’s parents’ new kitchen and now anytime we put water on to boil it’s always Power Boil (said in a voice that would accompany jazz hands).

kris (mom) says:

look at that soup! it looks so yummy.
is that the one you made me? i can almost smell it.

seems like things are getting back to a new kind of
normal.

adam is so beautiful. tell them congrats.
hugs~mom

L- power boil is pretty amazing, but it is so odd that it is written on the control…it’s like turbo boost or something.

mom- yup! that is the chickpea and pasta soup that is tasty and easy to make. it is nice to be able to have real and quick food finally.
