jeffy and eileen came up from nj to visit us this weekend!
they arrived late friday night so that we would have plenty of time on saturday for the 3 county fair:

a fair covering not one, not two, but three counties is bound to fill up an entire day, especially when it costs $10 per person to get in, right? apparently not so much. sure, we saw some cute animals:
and some award winning vegetables, both pickled:

and anthropomorphic:

but, in under an hour we had seen all there was to see and headed out of the fair gates, disappointed, to make a new plan for the rest of the day:

we wandered around the shops in town, had dinner and stopped by our garden:

to harvest tomatoes:

the day ended around a makeshift fire pit in the back yard:

each of us fighting over who would get to snuggle with the pups for warmth:

What, no photo credits??!?!! I knew you were going to steal my photos! hahaha (just kidding) ;-)
mwspoons says:
haha!
i actually meant to mention something about your pics, and totally forgot! there are a few more installments on their way, so maybe you’ll get your credit there. :D
i loved your photo essay too. you made the cookie-making seem like quite the event.
mom/cindy says:
who would have thought???? with all the advertising. Good thing it wasn’t only one county…..
mwspoons says:
i know!!!! you saw all the signs…they seemed to promise fun fun fun, didn’t they?!?! sigh. it was such a let down after all that build-up.
kelly says:
im so sad it was boring. and to think i was jealous!
by the way you look adorable ;)
mwspoons says:
kels,
i know! we couldn’t believe what a let down it was. it even would have been fun if it was cheezy instead of good. and it wasn’t even cheezy bad, just bad.
and isn’t that tomato pic cute? eileen took it with her camera, and we all titled it, “take a look at THESE tomatoes!” wink, wink
[…] getting back to the jeff and eileen visit! we had a much more successful adventure on the second full day of their trip. we hopped in the car […]
