recently, an item has entered the house that makes sunday lunches pretty much non-existent.
tom’s birthday waffle maker:

it has been in use almost every sunday morning since he got it and because of it, sundays have become a two-meal day.
i like mine topped with some fruit and syrup, while tom enjoys a smearing of unsweetened strawberry jam.

we now have a pretty good recipe of our own that combines ideas from vegan with a vengeance and a recipe from ben. (my favorite detail is that all of the sweetness comes from bananas)
before we had settled on a tasty way of doing it ourselves, we bought a box mix to get us started. since i can’t have dairy, finding a suitable box mix was a challenge. but i found this:

how can you not buy a box with such a cute graphic design?!
these were pretty good, but i’m glad to have moved past the box.

Me n’ the baby have been on an “evil french toast” kick…by evil, I make the french toast (with a pinch of almond extract in the “batter”)…cook em’ up…then put choc. chips n’ pecans on top…and then syrup….yeah…and I gotta weigh in today @ the midwives….this isn’t going to be pretty!!!
