on sunday night we went to brattleboro, vt to see the “mother of the MP3,” suzanne vega.
while walking around town, we headed into this little shop:
apparently suzanne vega had the same plan. she came in, wandered around looking at the goodies and nearly crashed fully into tom. he almost got run over by the person we were in town to see! we were very amused.
we headed out to walk to dinner and stopped to look at the water rushing by. the walk to the restaurant was better than the actual restaurant so i’ll show you the sites rather than talk about the meal:

i’m so infatuated with water rushing over rocks. i can’t help but try to capture it, but it is never as pretty and calming as it is in person.
the show was fantastic, the theater (an old movie house that still shows films) was deco and lovely, and we were able to grab front row center seats. the good thing about that was: we had a great view and plenty of leg room. the bad thing was: i didn’t feel like i could whip out my camera and snap any pics. i felt as though suzanne vega could see me and would be disappointed in my behavior. so instead, i attempted to “kinnear” some shots.
this is probably the best one i got:
but here are some of the other attempts (click for bigger):
notable concert moment: she is touring with a full band this time around (we have only ever seen her alone or with one bass player) and so was able to close the show with a very funny rendition of this DNA version of “tom’s diner”
