so, thanks to the understanding nature of my co-workers and the hospitality of j&l, we were able to stay in d.c. for the rescheduled sleater-kinney show.
the 9:30 club was prepared for the show, as evidenced by the large green generator outside of the club:

i didn’t love the band that opened on tuesday, so i was happy when french toast opened this time. their set was good, but, since we got through the opening band on tuesday before the show got cancelled, we knew it could all still go wrong.
i was relieved when sleater-kinney finally showed up on stage! here is a lousy camera phone picture to prove it:

you can totally tell that it’s them, right?
if not, click on this rock-star-move pic of carrie for a pretty good flickr set (although corin got most of the pics):
i am so happy that we were able to stay and get to the show. it was totally worth the wait.
you, too, can enjoy what we got to hear by clicking here for the npr recording of the show. the sound quality isn’t quite as good as it was live, but it is still fun to hear. enjoy!
DCist.com has a write-up of the show that actually happened.
i can’t quite believe that they are over. sigh.
